Neurologie - EEG-Messung

Department of Neurology

Focused on all neurological diseases

The department of neurology treats all patients with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems and of the skeletal musculature. Neurological diseases are the most significant causes of acquired (i.e. non-congenital) disability.

The key objectives of treatment are avoiding or alleviating these conditions and thus maintaining or restoring self-determination. The Clinic focuses particularly on all acute neurological diseases and sudden exacerbations of chronic diseases.

It is therefore fundamentally important that conditions are recognized rapidly and treated appropriately. The major diseases are strokes, in which the first few minutes determine the fate of the patient. Strokes must be diagnosed and treatment started in less than an hour, socalled “golden hour of stroke”.

Acute episodes in multiple sclerosis also require a fast onset of treatment to obtain a best recovery. In the case of epileptic seizures this life-threatening condition has to be stopped as soon as possible.

Main areas of activity in the departments are:

  • Inflammatory diseases of central nervous system
  • Epilepsy
  • Parkinson´s disease
  • Polyneuropathy
  • Chronical pain

The department practices the whole spectrum of diagnostic, works closely together with the other departments of the clinic. The department is certified DIN ISO 9001:2015, the stroke unit is certified from the Deutsche Schlaganfallgesellschaft (German society of stroke).
